Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Description: Eosin Y is a xanthene dye and is used for the differential staining of connective tissue and cytoplasm. In histopathology, it is applied as a counterstain after hematoxylin and before methylene blue. It is also used as a background stain, thereby giving contrast to the nuclear stains.

Catalog Number: (B8522-1EA)
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Description: Brilliant Blue G is a methanol based stain which is especially designed for staining protein in polyacrylamide gels, but will also stain protein in agarose gels (IEF). The stain contains methanol and acetic acid so gels do not require fixing prior to staining. Water is added directly to the bottle to produce 1 liter of ready-to-use staining solution.

Catalog Number: (27-2310)
Supplier: VWR Chemicals
Description: peqGOLD pre-stained Protein Marker VI is a mixture of 10 coloured proteins. These proteins are recombinantly produced in E.coli, highly purified and supplied 'ready to use' in loading buffer. The protein concentrations are optimised to yield well-defined bands directly visible in SDS polyacrylamide gels.

Catalog Number: (C9368-30ML)
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Description: CC/mount is an aqueous based permanent mounting medium with a very high refractive index, which when applied to the stained tissue sections can store the tissue specimens permanently without the fading of the chromogens. Because of the superior refractive index of CC/mount, tissues mounted in this medium look like specimens mounted with organic based mounting media. No coverslipping is required with CC/mount. However, if coverslipping is required, dried CC/mount can be post mounted by using an organic based mounting medium. CC/mount permits the long-term storage of antigens localised using organic insoluble chromogen substrates, including AEC, DAB, Fast Red, BCIP/NBT, BCIP/INT and fluorescent dyes like FITC and phycobiliproteins. The high pH of CC/mount ensures increased stability of fluorescence intensity.

Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Description: Alcian Blue solution has been used in the histological staining of acidic glycosaminoglycans (GAGs; mucopolysaccharides) that are carboxylated or sulfated. Sulfated glycosaminoglycans appear to be the preferred substrate for alcian blue at pH 2.5. Alcian blue has been used to stain hyaluronan (HA), a nonsulfated GAG, but the intensity of the staining of HA is affected by the method of tissue fixation used. Alcian blue staining of GAGs in tissue may be modified through the addition of an electrolyte such as magnesium chloride.
