Description: MTT, XTT, and resazurin are reduced by mitochondrial metabolic activity to yield coloured or fluorescent products, and thus are useful for and assaying cell viability and quantitating cell number. MTT and XTT are reduced to coloured formazin salts that can be measured by absorbance. MTT generates an insoluble formazin salt, requiring cell lysis before the absorbance can be measured, while XTT does not require cell lysis for measurement. Resazurin is a non-fluorescent blue dye that is reduced to the pink fluorescent compound resorufin, which can be measured by fluorescence or absorbance.

Supplier: ENZO LIFE SCIENCES
Description: Ubiquitin Activating Kit for activation of ubiquitin for use in ubiquitinylation experiments. The kit provides the means of generating thioester linked, activated ubiquitin-E1 conjugates, utilising the first step in the ubiquitin cascade, for investigation of ubiquitin activation, subsequent ubiquitin transfer to/interaction with E2 conjugating enzymes, and their use in the ubiquitinylation of E3 ligases and target substrate proteins. Ubiquitin antibody provided allows high sensitivity detection of ubiquitin and ubiquitin-conjugates.

Supplier: ENZO LIFE SCIENCES
Description: MITO-ID® membrane potential detection kit monitors energetic status using a simple mix-and-read, no-wash protocol. It measures mitochondrial membrane potential with a cationic dye that fluoresces either green or orange depending upon membrane potential status.

Catalog Number: (ENZOALX850276KI01)
Supplier: ENZO LIFE SCIENCES
Description: For the effective isolation of a highly enriched mitochondrial fraction from the cytosolic fraction of various mammalian cells including both apoptotic an non-apoptotic cells. The enriched mitochondrial and cytosolic fractions can be used to study apoptosis and signal trasduction pathways by detecting translocations of factors of interest between the two fractions by ELISA, Western blot or other assays.

Description: Nerve terminal probes are a series of fluorescent cationic styryl dyes developed to follow synaptic activity. These dyes have a lipophilic tail at one end and a hydrophilic cationically charged head group at the other end. The dyes vary in the number of carbons in the lipophilic tail (m) and the number of double bonds linking the two aromatic rings in the dye (n). AM dyes are similar to FM dyes, but contain an additional formaldehyde-fixable amino group in the cationic head.

Description: Apoptosis and necrosis are two processes by which cells die. Apoptosis is an active, regulated disassembly of the cell from within. During apoptosis, phosphatidylserine is translocated from the inner to the outer surface of the cell, allowing the dying cell to be engulfed by phagocytic cells. Annexin V is a 35 kD Ca2+-dependent phospholipid binding protein with a high affinity for phosphatidylserine.

Catalog Number: (ENZOBMLAK3100001)
Supplier: ENZO LIFE SCIENCES
Description: Designed to screen ADAM17 (TACE) inhibitors using a quenched fluorogenic peptide. The ADAM17 Fluorometric (also known as fluorimetric) Drug Discovery Kit is a complete assay system designed to screen ADAM17 (TACE) inhibitors using a quenched fluorogenic peptide: Mca-PLAQAV-Dpa-RSSSR-NH2. Mca fluorescence is quenched by the Dpa group until cleavage by proteases separates the two moieties. The assays are performed in a convenient 96-well microplate format. The kit is useful to screen inhibitors of ADAM17, a potential therapeutic target. The compound GM6001 is also included as a prototypic control inhibitor.

Catalog Number: (30050.)
Supplier: Biotium
Description: Cell proliferation dyes diffuse passively into cells and covalently label intracellular proteins, resulting in long term cell labelling. They are non-fluorescent until they are hydrolysed by intracellular esterase's. The dyes then react with intracellular amines forming fluorescent conjugates that are retained in the cell. Immediately after staining, a single, bright fluorescent population will be detected by flow cytometry. With each cell division, daughter cells inherit roughly half of the fluorescent label, allowing the number of cell divisions that occur after labelling to be detected by the appearance of successively dimmer fluorescent peaks on a flow cytometry histogram compared to cells analysed immediately after staining. Staining is formaldehyde fixable.

Supplier: Biotium
Description: Wheat germ agglutinin binds specifically to N-acetylglucosamine in the peptidoglycan layer of gram-positive bacteria. The Live Bacterial Gram Stain Kit contains wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) conjugated to CF™594 to stain the surface of gram-positive cells with red fluorescence. The kit also includes DAPI to stain the DNA of all bacteria with blue fluorescence. Gram-positive bacteria stained using this kit will show a fluorescent blue interior and fluorescent red cell surface, while gram-negative bacterial will be stained with blue fluorescence only.
