Description: NuMA (Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein) is an intranuclear protein and present in nucleus during interphase. At the onset of mitosis, it redistributes from the nucleus to two centrosomal structures that later will become part of the mitotic spindle pole. After anaphase, the protein redistributes from the spindle polar region into reforming nucleus. NuMA is an essential protein during mitosis for the terminal phases of chromosome separation and/or nuclear reassembly. Recently a study shows that NuMA is cleaved to a 180 to 200kDa during apoptosis.

Description: Pleiotropic regulator of mitotic progression, participating in the control of spindle dynamics and chromosome separation. Phosphorylates different histones, myelin basic protein, beta-casein, and BICD2. Phosphorylates histone H3 on serine and threonine residues and beta-casein on serine residues. Important for G1/S transition and S phase progression.

Description: Ahlstrom-Munksjö’s qualitative grades of filter paper are recommended for use in analytical methods which determine or identify particulate constituents of a mixture irrespective of the amount present. Qualitative filter papers are often used in routine separation work that still requires high purity and consistent performance. These filter papers covers a wide range of laboratory applications, as liquids clarification, qualitative analytical separations for precipitates and buffers filtration, and are also used for soil analysis and in food and beverage testing. Wet-strengthened grades contain a reinforcement agent that increases their resistance to rupture when wet, such as in vacuum filtration, and their resistance when filtering acidic solutions. High Purity hardened filter papers grades 1288 to 1291 are also produced from cellulose with an alpha content of nearly 100% resulting in an ash content of <0,1%.

Description: Ribonucleotide reductase is essential for the production and maintenance of the level of deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates (dNTPs) required for DNA synthesis. It is an enzymatic complex consisting of two nonidentical subunits, R1 and R2, which are inactive separately. R2, the smaller subunit, is localized to the cytoplasm. R2 is the limiting factor of the catalytic activity of the ribonucleotide reductase enzymatic complex. R2 expression is strictly correlated to the S-phase of the cell cycle, whereas R1 remains constant throughout all phases of the cell cycle. While R2 seems to be involved solely in the maintenance of dNTPs for DNA replication, a similar protein, p53R2, has been shown to be responsible for the production of dNTPs in response to DNA damage.

Description: Recognizes a phosphorylated protein of 228 kDa, identified as nuclear mitotic apparatus protein (NuMA). Its epitope is resistant to phosphatases. NuMA is intra-nuclear protein and present in nucleus during interphase. Recently a study shows that NuMA is cleaved to a 180 to 200 kDa during apoptosis. Chromosomal translocation of this gene with the RARA (retinoic acid receptor, alpha) gene on chromosome 17 has been detected in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia.
