Description: Olfactory receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose, to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of a smell. The olfactory receptor proteins are members of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) arising from single coding-exon genes. Olfactory receptors share a 7-transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and are responsible for the recognition and G protein-mediated transduction of odorant signals. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. The nomenclature assigned to the olfactory receptor genes and proteins for this organism is independent of other organisms.

Description: SET07 is a histone methyltransferase that methylates Lys-20 of histone H4. H4 Lys-20 methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression. The nuclear SET07 protein, which associates with silent chromatin on euchromatic arms but shows no association with constitutive heterochromatin, prefers nucleosomes as substrate compared to free histones. It appears that SET07 may play a role in maintaining silent chromatin by preventing neighboring acetylation of H4 tail. Although the SET domain contains the active site of enzymatic activity, both sequences upstream and downstream of the SET domain are required for methyltransferase activity.

Catalog Number: (PRSI76-597)
Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: The GL-1 monoclonal antibody reacts specifically with the mouse B7-2 (also known as CD86), a costimulatory molecule expressed by B and T lymphocytes, macrophages (thioglycollate-induced from peritoneum), astrocytes and dendritic cells. The memory CD4+ T lymphocytes express CD86 (as mRNA and protein). CD86, and the B7-1 (CD 80) molecule, are ligands for CD152 and CD28, and influence the costimulatory interactions between lymphocytes B and T. B7-2 is also involved in the mouse natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity. The GL-1 antibody blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and inhibits the T-cells stimulation by antigen-presenting cells. Mixtures of anti-B7-1 antibody and GL-1 were reported to inhibit the interaction between CD125 and its ligand with the in vivo priming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes.

Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: The IT2.2 antibody reacts with human CD86, also known as B7-2, an 80 kDa cell surface protein which is a ligand for CD28, a co-stimulatory receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR). CD28 can also bind a second B7 ligand known as CD80 (B7-1). Both CD80 and CD86 are expressed on activated B cells and antigen-presenting cells. These ligands trigger CD28 signaling in concert with TCR activation to drive T cell proliferation, induce high-level expression of IL-2, impart resistance to apoptosis, and enhance T cell cytotoxicity. The interaction/co-stimulatory signaling between the B7 ligands and CD28 provides crucial communication between T cells and B cells or APCs to coordinate the adaptive immune response. The IT2.2 antibody may be used as a marker for CD86 expression on B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is reported to be cross-reactive with Rhesus, Cynomolgus and Common marmoset CD86.
