Description: XBP-1 Antibody: X box binding protein 1 (XBP-1) is a key protein in the mammalian unfolded protein response (UPR) that protects the cell against the stress of malfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Upon sensing unfolded proteins, an ER transmembrane endonuclease and kinase termed IRE1p is activated and excises an intron from XBP-1 mRNA. The spliced XBP-1 mRNA results in a 371 amino acid protein (XBP-1s) which is then translocated to the nucleus where it binds to the regulatory elements of downstream genes. Together with other UPR transcription factors such as ATF6, XBP-1 stimulates the production of ER stress proteins including the ER resident protein chaperones glucose regulated protein (GRP) 78 and GRP94.

Description: IL-32 Antibody: Interleukin-32 (IL-32) was initially identified as a transcript (NK4) that is selectively expressed in lymphocytes and NK cells and whose expression is increased following activation by IL-2. It was later re-isolated from an IL-18-treated lung carcinoma cell line and re-named IL-32. IL-32 is unusual in that it does not share sequence homology with known cytokine families and is highly expressed in immune tissues, existing in at least four differentially spliced isoforms. Because treatment of human monocytic and mouse macrophage cells with IL-32 induces several proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha , IL-8 and MIP-2, and because it is also induced in human peripheral lymphocyte cells after mitogen stimulation and in epithelial cells by IFN gamma , it has been suggested that IL-32 may play a role in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Description: Swine H1N1 Nonstructural Protein 1 Antibody: Influenza A virus is a major public health threat, killing more than 30, 000 people per year in the USA. In early 2009, a novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus (S-OIV) was identified in specimens obtained from patients in Mexico and the United States. One of the less studied proteins encoded by, but not incorporated in, the influenza virus is the nonstructural protein (NS) 1. NS1 counters cellular antiviral activities and acts as a virulence factor. It can bind to double-stranded RNA and sequester it from 2'-5'OAS, preventing the activation of the RNAse L, which normally acts to degrade RNA and prevent virus replication. NS1 also binds to and inhibits the anti-viral protein kinase PKR.

Description: Seasonal H1N1 Nucleocapsid Protein Antibody: Influenza A virus is a major public health threat, killing more than 30, 000 people per year in the USA. In early 2009, a novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus (S-OIV) was identified in specimens obtained from patients in Mexico and the United States. The influenza A virus polymerase transcribes and replicates eight virion RNA (vRNA) segments, among which the nucleocapsid protein (NP), thought to control whether mRNA or cRNA is produced. The nucleoprotein (NP), which has multiple functions during the virus life cycle, possesses regions that are highly conserved among influenza A, B, and C viruses. It was recently found several NP mutations that affected the efficient incorporation of multiple viral-RNA (vRNA) segments into progeny virions even though a single vRNA segment was incorporated efficiently. This indicates that the respective conserved amino acids in NP may be critical for the assembly and/or incorporation of sets of eight vRNA segments.

Description: AGTR2 Antibody: Angiotensin II is a potent vasopressor hormone and a primary regulator of aldosterone secretion that acts through at least two types of receptors, AGTR1 and AGTR2. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system and plays a major role in the development of the mammalian kidney and urinary tract. Like AGTR1, AGTR2 is a seven transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR), but AGTR2 does not demonstrate most of the classic features of GPCR signaling. AGTR2 is involved in a wide range of activities, including the induction of neurite outgrowth and the inhibition of cellular proliferation, in addition to the known function of mediation of vasoconstriction.

Description: JMJD6 Antibody: The jumonji domain-containing protein (JMJD) family is defined by the presence of the JmjC domain that is observed in several diverse species. JMJD6 was initially identified as a membrane protein that participates in phagocytosis but recent studies have shown that it has other functions when it is expressed in the cytosol and nucleus. JMJD6 is thought to play important roles in regulation of development and differentiation as knockdown experiments in mice resulted in neonatal lethality with severe defects in the morphology of numerous organs. JMJD6 also can catalyze the lysyl-hydroxylation of U2AF65, a protein involved with RNA splicing, suggesting that some of the functions attributed to JMJD6 may be due to its regulatory activity of RNA splicing.

Description: JMJD4 Antibody: The jumonji domain-containing protein (JMJD) family is defined by the presence of the JmjC domain that is observed in several diverse species. While several JMJD proteins have been identified as being involved in chromatin regulation, histone demethylation and development, the JMJD4 has not been identified. JMJD4 is expressed in multiple tissues and At least three isoforms of JMJD4 are known to exist.
