Description: Prostaglandin E Receptor EP2 is a member of the Prostanoid Receptor subfamily. Along with several other receptor subtypes (EP1, EP3, and EP4), it mediates the diverse biological effects of Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). PGE2 has been implicated in numerous processes, including immune response modulation, male erectile function, induction of labor, cervical cancer, control of blood pressure, asthma, and more recently, Alzheimer's Disease.

Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: G2A belongs to the Lysophospholipid/Lysosphingolipid Receptor family and is an anti-proliferative cell cycle regulator that plays a critical role in controlling peripheral lymphocyte homeostasis. Loss of G2A expression leads to the development of a late-onset autoimmune syndrome (Le et al, 2001). Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) is the activating ligand for G2A.

Description: Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, causing a hyperpolarization of the membrane through the opening of a Cl− channel associated with the GABAA receptor (GABAA-R) subtype. GABA plasma membrane transporters (GATs) influence synaptic neurotransmission by high-affinity uptake and release of GABA. To date, four distinct GABA transporters have been identified: GAT-1, GAT-2, GAT-3, and BGT-1. GAT-2 is found in a wide range of neuronal and non-neuronal cells including dendrites and axon terminals as well as epithelial cells and cells forming the pia and arachnoid complex (Conti et al., 1999).

Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: ALAS-1 (EC 2.3.1.37) is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial matrix enzymecatalyzing the condensation of glycine with succinyl-CoA to form delta-amino levulinate, CO2 and CoA. It regulates the first and rate-limiting step of heme biosynthetic pathway. It is one of the two isoforms of ALAS and is a pyridoxal-5 phosphate dependant housekeeping enzyme. It is ubiquitously expressed and is responsible of providing heme for cytochromes and other hemoproteins. ALAS1 in liver undergoes negative feedback regulation by heme. Transcription of ALAS1 gene is stimulated by cAMP and respiratory uncoupling whereas Phorbol esters and insulin repress ALAS1 gene expression. ALAS1 is suggested to be involved in reciprocal regulation of Heme biosynthesis and circadian clock suggesting a potential target for treatment of circadian disorders. ALAS1 gene expression is down regulated in Acute Liver failure resulting in altered heme metabolism and liver function.

Description: The dopamine transporter (DAT) is responsible for the reaccumulation of dopamine after it has been released. DAT antibodies and antibodies for other markers of catecholamine biosynthesis are widely used as markers for dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurons in a variety of applications including depression, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease and drug abuse (Kish et al., 2001; Zhu et al., 2000; Zhu et al., 1999). Levels of DAT protein expression are altered by chronic drug administration (Wilson et al., 1996).

Catalog Number: (PRSI50-192)
Supplier: ProSci Inc.
Description: Synaptophysin 2, also known as synaptoporin, is a component of the synaptic vesicle membrane and thought to play an important role in synaptic vesicle trafficking (Dai et al., 2003). It is highly homologous to synaptophysin 1, yet differs in expression. Whereas synaptophysin 1 is ubiquitiously expressed, synaptophysin 2 is concentrated in the mossy fiber synapses of the hippocampus (Grabs et al., 1994; Singec et al., 2002).
